This is a project I am revisiting with Blender 4.2 LTS to test how the new realtime renders can compete with Cycles and path tracing. This specific example impressed me quite a bit. The first image is the Cycles render, the second is an Eevee Next render with shadows and AO layers composited over the top, blending with soft light in photoshop. A node graph is shown below on how to do this compositing realtime in blender while working.
